CPAPD Delegation Attended 2013 World Conference against A-and-H Bombs in Japan and Visited Indonesia and Laos


At the invitation by Japanese Gensuikyo, Indonesia LIPI and Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity (LCPS), a six-member delegation of the CPAPD headed by the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Tao Tao attended 2013 World Conference against A-and-H Bombs in Hiroshima Japan, and visited Indonesia and Laos from July 31 to August 9, 2013.
At the Conference, Mr. Tao made a speech at the international session and exchanged views with other participants on issues of international peace movement, promotion of disarmament process and so on. Besides, the delegation also visited or had discussions with the Japan NPO World Corporation, Japan Peace Committee, Gensuikyo, Hiroshima Peace Culture Center, Toda Institute for International Peace and Policy Studies, and Mr. Ogata Yasuo, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Japanese Communist Party, exchanging views on how to promote people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan and other issues of common concern.
During the visit to Indonesia, the delegation had a work discussion with LIPI, and talks with representatives from Indonesia CSIS, Board of Trustees WAFAA, National Agency for Anti-terrorism and Disarmament, and Indonesian Coordination Committee for Peace, discussing about Asia-Pacific situation and future cooperation between the CPAPD and the above-mentioned organizations.
In Laos, Mr. Khamphan Simmalavong, President of the LCPS hosted a work discussion and a welcome banquet for the delegation. The two sides agreed to further promote the exchanges and practical cooperation between the CPAPD and its Lao counterpart, contributing to the deepening of the friendship between the two peoples. The delegation also had a roundtable discussion with the representatives of Lao Foreign Institute, National Women’s Federation, Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Civil Affairs. Mr. Thong Savanh, Vice Minister of the International Department of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party met with the delegation in courtesy.
