At the invitation from the Chinese Peoples' Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), a delegation of Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity (LCPS) led by H.E. Mr. Sommad Pholsena, the Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly of The Lao People’s Democratic Republic and President of the LCPS visited China from October 16th to 25th 2023. In Beijing, H.E. Mr. Sommad Pholsena participated in the opening ceremony of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, attended the Thematic Forum on People-to-People Connection and delivered a keynote speech. Besides, H.E. Madam Tie Ning, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Vice President of the CPAPD held a meeting with the delegation. Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC met with and held a welcome banquet for the delegation. Both Mr. An Yuejun, Secretary General and Dr. Tao Tao, Deputy Secretary General of the CPAPD had friendly exchanges with delegation members. The delegation also paid a visit to the National Museum of China and Beijing Bayi School. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province.
