A Five-member CPAPD Delegation Visited Japan, Korea and Mongolia


At the cordial invitation of the President of Hiroshima Peace and Culture Foundation and Mayor of Hiroshima, Mr. MATSUI Kazumi, and the Secretary General of the Union for Peace and Friendship, Mongolia, Mr. D. Bilegt, Ms Chen Huaifan, the Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), headed a five-member CPAPD delegation on a good-will visit to Japan and Mongolia from March 7th to 18th, 2012. On the way from Japan to Mongolia, the delegation also attended the 2012 Northeast Asian Women’s Peace Conference held in Seoul by Women Making Peace and altogether 22 women organization in South Korea on March 13th and 14th.
During the visit to these three countries, the CPAPD delegation was given warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements by the hosts.
In Japan, the delegation had a formal meeting with the President of Hiroshima Peace and Culture Foundation and Mayor of Hiroshima, Mr. MATSUI Kazumi, a working session with the counterpart, Hiroshima Peace and Culture Foundation to discuss further exchanges between the two organizations, an earnest talk with Mr. Hideo HIRAOKA, Chair of the Administration Committee the Democratic Party of Japan, small workshops with the Hiroshima Peace Institute at Hiroshima City University and Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Research, luncheon and dinner parties with the Diemen's League for Japan-China Friendship, NPT SEKAI and Japan-China Society.
In South Korea, Ms. Chen Huaifan made a country report, with the title of “A Nuclear Free World and the Lives of Chinese Women” on the conference, and the CPAPD delegation were invited to an informal party to have dialogue with the Mayor of Seoul, Mr. Park Won-soon. During the stay in South Korea, the delegation also called on Mr. Cheon Seongwhun in Korea Institute for National Unification.
In Mongolia, the delegation paid visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia, the Mongolia Institute for Strategic Studies and the Mongolian Institute of Geopolitical Studies to have friendly and through discussions with well-known Mongolian officials and scholars. The CPAPD delegation was also invited to a working luncheon, hosted by the President of Union for Peace and Friendship, Mongolia, Dr. Prof. D. Tsakhilgaan.
This five-member delegation was the first CPAPD delegation of international exchanges in 2012, setting a good start for CPAPD’s friendship and cooperation with our counterparts in other parts of the world.
