CPAPD President Han Qide Visits Bulgaria and Romania


At the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Senate of Romania, H.E. Mr. Han Qide, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) visited Bulgaria and Romania as head of the CPAPD delegation from 16th to 25th June, 2016. The delegation also passed via Budapest as a transit on its way back to China.
During the stay in Bulgaria, Mr. Han met respectively with The President of the Assembly, H.E. Ms. Tsacheva, the Vice President of the Assembly, H.E. Mr. Stoilov, and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Ms. Grozdanova. The delegation also had discussions and exchanges with representatives from Bulgarian National Peace Committee, the Center for the Study of Democracy, the Center of Euro-Asia Geopolitical Strategic Studies, Sofia University and University of Veliko Turnovo.
In Romania, Mr. Han met with the President of the Senate, H.E. Mr. Tariceanu and Vice President of the Senate, H.E. Mr. Nistor. The delegation also held working discussions of various forms with the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, the Romania-China Friendship Group of the Parliament, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and the Business Environment and representatives from think-tanks and organizations like the Societatea Civila, Romanian Foundation for Democracy through Law, EURISC Foundation, Romanian Peace Council and Middle East Political and Economic Institute, etc..
During its short stay in Hungary, the delegation paid a visit to the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and explored the possibility of future exchanges and cooperation between the CPAPD and the IFAT.
