On April 4, the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament held the 9^th Joint Conference of Member Organizations and the 2^nd Conference of the Board of Directors in Beijing. Yan Junqi, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress; Han Qide, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wan Jiarui, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Ma Biao, Vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and 200 people attended the conference.

    The Conference examined and approved the Working Report of the 8^th Joint Conference of Member Organizations. The Conference elected CPAPD new leadership: He Luli, Vice-Chairperson of the 9^th and 10^th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress was elected as Honorary President; Li Wuwei, Vice-Chairman of the 11^th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was elected as Honorary Vice-President; Han Qide, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was elected as President of the CPAPD. Ma Biao, Vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Lu Hao, Chairman of the Committee on Environmental and Resources Protection of the National People’s Congress; Tie Ning, President of Chinese Writers Association; Yu Hongjun, Vice-Minister of the International Department, Central Committee of the CPC; Lin Yifu, former World Bank Senior Vice President; An Qiyi, Vice-Chairman of All-China Federation of Industrialists and Businessmen; Chen Jingwei, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Lin Huiqing, Assistant Minister of Education; He Jun, former Assistant Minister of the International Department, Central Committee of the CPC  were elected as Vice-Presidents of the CPAPD. Wang Guangtao, former Chairman of the Committee on Environmental and Resources Protection of the National People’s Congress; Mao Rubai, former Chairman of the Committee on Environmental and Resources Protection of the National People’s Congress; Qi Rang, Former Vice-Chairman of China Association for Science and Technology; Ma Wenpu, Vice-Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress; Liu Jingqin, Former Vice-Minister of the International Department, Central Committee of the CPC; Huan Guoying, Former Vice-Minister of the International Department, Central Committee of the CPC; Liu Bainian, Honorary President of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association; Yu Zhengui, former Vice-President of China Islamic Association; Hu Side, former President of China Academy of Engineering Physics, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Pan Zhenqiang, former Director of the Institute of Strategic Studies of the National Defense University were elected as advisors to CPAPD. The conference formed the Second Board of Directors with 184 members and the Standing Board of Directors with 40 members.
