African NGO Leadership Delegation Visits China


At the invitation by the CPAPD, an African NGO Leadership Delegation consisted of 19 representatives of NGOs, Research Institutes and Media from Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe visited China from May 3 to 12, 2016.
In Beijing, Mr. YU Hongjun, member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Vice President of the CPAPD, met with the delegation. Secretary General Mr. Zhu Rui briefed the delegation about China’s basic national conditions and foreign policy, and held a working discussion. Professor from Chinese Academy of Governance made a thematic presentation to the delegation about experiences and practices of China’s Economic Development. The delegation also attended the Wanshou Forum, co-organized by the CPAPD and International Department of Central Committee of CPC. With the Forum’s focus on NGO’s roles and contribution in the context of global economic governance, the delegation had vivid and lively discussion with dozens of scholars and experts from National Development and Reform Commission, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Association for International Understanding, China NGO Network for International Exchanges and China Foundation for Peace and Development.  
Apart from seminars in Beijing, the delegation made in-depth field-studies to Anhui and Guangdong Province, including Hefei state Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, Anhui Foreign Economic Construction (Group), Anhui Provincial model villages of Beautiful Countryside Building, Headquarter of Guangzhou Automobile Group,  Zhuhai Cultural and Creative Industry Base. The delegation also paid inspection to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority and had discussions with Executive Director and Engineers at the Authority.
