CPAPD Delegation visits Turkey, Georgia and Iran


At the respective invitation of the Marmara Group Foundation of Turkey, Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) and the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of Iran, Mr. Yu Hongjun, Member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice-President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) visited the afore-mentioned three countries from April 4th to 15th, 2016 by leading the CPAPD delegation.
During the stay in Turkey, the delegation participated in the 19th Eurasian Economic Summit hosted by the Marmara Group Foundation in Istanbul, and respectively met with the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Tugrul Turkes, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly, Mr. Taha Ozhan, and the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Umit Yalcin.
In Georgia, the delegation met with the Vice-Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, H.E. Zviad Dzidziguri, and had a working meeting with the Executive President of the GFSIS, Mr. Merab Kakulia. The delegation also attended a Dialogue with its counterparts in Georgia entitled “Shared Opportunities and Challenges facing the Joint-building of the Silk Road Economic Belt by China and Georgia”.
In Iran, the delegation met with the Vice Foreign Minister, H.E. Hadi Soliemanpour, and had a working discussion with Director-General of the IPIS, Mr. Mostafa Zahrani.
