CPAPD President HAN Qide Visits India, Sri Lanka and Thailand


At the invitation by the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization, Pathfinder Foundation of Sri Lanka and National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, Mr. Han Qide, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) visited India, Sri Lanka and Thailand as head of the CPAPD delegation from Jan 31st to February 9th, 2018.
During the stay in India, Mr. Han met respectively with Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Dr. M. Thambi Durai, Speaker of West Bengal Legislative Assembly Mr. Biman Banerjee. The delegation also had discussions and exchanged views on issues of common concern with experts from Vivekananda International Foundation, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other friendly organizations and institutes.
During the stay in Sri Lanka, Mr. Han met respectively with Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Mr. Karu Jayasuriya and leaders from Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association, Sri Lanka-China Society, and Sri Lanka-China Buddhist Friendship Association. The delegation also had meetings with friends from Pathfinder Foundation, Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies and other institutes.
During the stay in Thailand, Mr. Han met respectively with President of Thailand's National Legislative Assembly Mr. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, First Vice-President of Thailand's National Legislative Assembly Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai, and Chiang Mai Governor Mr. Pawin Chamniprasart, and had discussions with Thailand-China Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group. The delegation also had a discussion with experts of Thai-China Cultural and Economic Association, Chulalongkorn University and Strategic Studies Center of Thailand.
The delegation also exchanged views with representatives from different sectors of the three countries on issues like bilateral relations, parliamentary exchanges, bilateral non-governmental exchanges and cooperation, regional situation and so on.
