
On April 2, the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) held the 10th Joint Conference of Member Organizations and the 3rd Conference of the Board of Directors in Beijing. Ma Biao, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the 13th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and 9th Vice President of the CPAPD, Han Qide, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the 12th CPPCC and 9th President of the CPAPD, and Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC (IDCPC) attended the conference.
The conference elected CPAPD new leadership as well as Board of Directors: Ma Biao was Elected President, Tie Ning, President of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and President of Chinese Writers Association, Sun Yao, Vice Minister of Education of China, Yu Hongjun and Zhou Li, both former Vice Minister of the IDCPC were elected Vice Presidents. Some 145 representatives from the communities of politics, economy, academia, health and culture all over China were designated as directors of the new Board, and of them, 39 are standing members. The conference also approved a revised constitution of the CPAPD.
