Japanese Murayama Statement Delegation Visits China


At the invitation by the CPAPD, a 11-member delegation of Japanese Association for Inheriting and Developing Murayama Statement headed by its Joint Representative and Honorary Professor of Saitama University Mr. Kamakura Takao visited China from March 9 to 13, 2015. In Beijing, Vice President of the CPAPD Mr. Yu Hongjun and Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Mr. Li Jun met with the delegation respectively. Secretary General of the CPAPD Mr. Zhu Rui held a work discussion. The two organizations cosponsored a symposium on Sino-Japanese relations entitled “facing up to the history and looking forward to the future”. The delegation also visited Lugou Bridge, a historical site which is the starting point of the overall Japanese Aggression War to China. In Nanjing, Ms. Xu Ning, Head of the Publicity Department of Nanjing Municipal Committee of the CPC met with the delegation. The delegation visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, presented flowers to the victims and conducted Buddhist rites for them. In Shanghai, officials from Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government met with the delegation, and the delegation had a seminar with Shanghai Institute for International Studies. Media from both countries covered the visit.
