CPAPD Delegation Headed by Secretary General Mr. Zhu Rui Visits Nepal and Japan


At the invitation by Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council (NPSC) and Japanese Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation (HPCF), CPAPD Secretary General Mr. Zhu Rui headed a 4-member delegation visited Nepal and Japan from January 29 to February 5, 2015.
In Nepal, the delegation met with former Prime Minister and Senior Leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Jhala Nath Khanal, had a work discussion with its counterpart NPSC, and co-sponsored the Meeting Marking the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between China and Nepal together with NPSC and Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Mr. Khanal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Mr. Wu Chuntai, representatives of Nepali Congress Party and Madhesi were present at the meeting and addressed the audiences, and over 400 people from all walks of life in Nepal also attended. At the meeting, Mr. Zhu Rui made a speech and officially launched the “A Ray of Sunshine” livelihood project aiming at donating 500 solar-energy table lamps to the students of Jana Jagriti Lower Secondary School in Lumbini.
During the stay in Japan, the delegation called on over ten members of House of Representatives like Mr. Yokomichi Takahiro, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Funada Hajime, Head of the Constitution Amendment Department of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, Mr. Toyama Kiyohiko, Head of the International Department of the Komei Party, Mr. Shoichi Kondo and Mr. Soichiro Okuno from the Democratic Party of Japan, Mr. Yasuo Ogata and Mr. Tadaaki Kawata who is respectively Vice-chairman and Head of the Department of Peace Movement of the Japanese Communist Party, and its partner organizations In Tokyo such as Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Studies, Japan Gensuikyo, and Japan Peace Committee in Tokyo. In Hiroshima, the delegation met with Mr. Matsui Kazumi who is Mayor of Hiroshima, President of the HPCF and President of Mayors for Peace Conference. The delegation had a work discussion with the HPCF, listened to the testimony of hibakusha, visited Hiroshima Peace Park and Peace Materials Museum and presented a bunch of flowers to the monument commemorating the victims died at the atomic bombing in Hiroshima.
