CPAPD Partner Pathfinder Foundation Awarded “Top 10 Sri Lankan Partners”
On January 17th, the “2014 Happy Lunar New Year-China-Sri Lanka Gala and Award Ceremony”, co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Chinese Enterprises Association, was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Pathfinder Foundation, a Sri Lankan partner of the CPAPD, was awarded as one of the “Top 10 Sri Lankan Partners”. H.E. Wu Jianghao, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. G.L. Pieris, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to H.E the President presented the award to Mr. Milinda Moragoda, founder of Pathfinder Foundation. H.E President Mahinda Rajapakse and Hon. Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne took a group photo with all the award recipients.
Since signing a Memorandum of Cooperation in 2012, the CPAPD and the Pathfinder Foundation have had several exchange visits and practical collaborations which effectively promoted the economic cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
With the advent of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the New Year greetings from the Pathfinder Foundation was printed on Daily Mirror, the most widely circulated English newspaper in Sri Lanka, reviewing the achievements yielded from the exchanges between the two countries and the two organizations, and expressing the Pathfinder Foundation’s willingness to “continue to attach the highest priority to playing a catalytic role in strengthening the Sri Lanka-China bilateral relationship”. The greetings are also issued by many other newspapers in Sri Lanka.
