A CPAPD Delegation to Canada, the U.S. and Japan


Invited by Canada-China Legislative Association, the American Friends Service Committee and Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Research affiliated to Soka Gakkai Association of Japan, Mme. Yan Junqi, Vice Chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee and Vice President of the CPAPD headed a delegation to visit Canada, the U.S., and Japan consecutively from October 20 to November 1. In Canada, Mme. Yan met with Senate Speaker Noel A. Kinsella, holding discussion upon strengthening legislative cooperation and personnel exchanges  between the two countries. In the U.S., Mme. Yan attended the 4th Sino-US NGO Peace Forum held in American University, Washington D.C., and addressed to participants and the audience, calling for enhancing Sino-US people-to-people exchanges. She also visited George Mason University and made a speech in Lynch Lecture. In Japan, Mme Yan  visited Tokyo, meeting with Mr. Takahiro Yokomichi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mr. Minoru Harada, President of Soka Gakkai. The two sides highlighted the importance of people-to-people friendship between China and Japan. Both Mme. Yan and Mr. Harada stressed that CPAPD and Toda would continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges to promote the friendship between the two peoples and countries.
