From May 16 to 27, a Latin American NGO delegation visited China to attend the exchange program hosted by the CPAPD. The 9 delegates were from 7 influential NGOs in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile. Mr. Ma Wenpu, Vice President of the CPAPD and Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress met with the delegation. In Beijing, experts from different institutes and the Ministry of Civil Affairs briefed the delegation about China’s foreign policy, national conditions, concept of peaceful development, and efforts to the construction of a harmonious society and a harmonious world, and NGOs in China to the delegation. A seminar entitled “the Role of Latin American NGOs in Regional and International Affairs” was convened during the visit. In addition to Beijing, the delegation also visited Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Shandong Province for field study on new countryside construction and the policy of minority ethnic groups in China.
