At the cordial invitation of the Vice President of Cuba National Assembly of the People’s Power, Mr. Jaime A. Crombet and the Speaker of the Lower House of Brazilian Parliament, Mr. Marco Maia, Mr. Han Qide, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Conference and President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), headed the CPAPD delegation on a good-will visit to Cuba and Brazil from November 14th to 24th, 2011. During the visit to these two Latin-American countries, Mr. Han Qide and his delegation were given warm hospitality by the hosts. Besides the formal parliamentary meetings in these two countries, the delegation met and had a workshop with CPAPD’s counterpart in Cuba, Cuba’s Movement for Peace and World People’s Sovereignty, and held a China-Brazil NGO Roundtable Meeting together with representatives from influential NGOs in Brazil. Mr. Han’s visit to Latin-America not only further strengthens China’s friendship and cooperation with other countries and people to people exchanges, and is also regarded as a satisfactory full mark to CPAPD’s efforts in 2011.
