At the invitation of the Chinese People¡¯s Association for Peace and
Disarmament, a 5-member delegation of the Lao Committee for Peace and
Solidarity headed by the acting chairman, Mr. Bounpone Sangaomsak, paid
a friendly visit to China from August 24 to 31. Mme. He Luli, Vice-Chairperson
of the Standing Committee of the National People¡¯s Congress and President
of the CPAPD, met with the delegation. Mr. Zhang Zhijun, Vice Minister
of the International Department of Communist Party of China, also met
with the delegation. The CPAPD Vice-president Huan Guoying chaired the
discussion with the delegation. Besides Beijing, the delegation visited
Qingdao and Kunming.
At the meeting with the delegation, Mme. He Luli pointed out that Laos
and China are neighboring countries with traditional friendly relationship,
the exchanges between the mass organizations of the two countries are
very important. The visit made a new contribution to the promotion of
the relations between the two countries and to the understanding of
the two peoples.
Mr. Bounpone Sangaomsak, head of the delegation, expressed his sincere
thanks to the CPAPD for the invitation. He noted that the visit was
conductive to further deepening the mutual understanding and the friendly
cooperation among the peace organizations of the two countries. He also
hoped that the CPAPD and the LCPS will continue to carry out their exchanges
and learn from each other. He officially invited the CPAPD to send a
delegation to visit Laos in 2006.
